Not a Bad Way to Spend a Saturday: Saturday Write Live

Writers by nature are against prohibition, freedom of speech is our golden rule. Join Uptown Stories to raise a glass and a pen to spill some ink and alcohol – because sexy writing games and cocktails are a fun way to warm-up winter. William Faulkner states, “Civilization begins with distillation.” Oscar Wilde says, “Working is the curse of the drinking class.” Hemingway describes, “…that opaque, bitter, tongue-numbing, stomach warming, idea-changing liquid alchemy.” Dorothy Parker advises, “Drink and dance and laugh and lie/ love the reeling midnight through/ for tomorrow we shall die!/ (but alas, we never do.)” Surely, these great writers are onto something.

Tickets for this event are $25. Proceeds from this benefit event will support the young writers of Uptown Stories who cannot afford to pay full tuition for our workshops.

Dessert provided by SugarMama Bakery.
Food and wine for this event is generously sponsored by Parm.
